I am currently an instructor in the English Department of Washington State University. My dissertation, “A Grammar of Sakun (Sukur)” was completed in 2014 at the University of Colorado, Boulder. My research interests include typology, fieldwork and areal linguistics. I am particularly interested in the relation between discourse and grammar and approach grammatical description from a functional perspective. I also work on issues relating language policy and endangerment. With my long background teaching ESL, I also maintain an interest in second language acquisition and English grammar.
